Birth year watches

Watches made in 1970.

Hamilton showed the Pulsar in 1970, a watch with no hands at all, just a red LED display that lit up when you pressed a button. It looked like the future and cost about as much as a small car.

The Swiss industry meanwhile was at its largest ever, making mechanical watches at full tilt, with very little idea how quickly that was about to change.
