Birth year watches
Watches made in 1965.
Seiko released Japan's first diver's watch in 1965, the 62MAS, water resistant to 150 metres and considerably tougher than its modest looks suggest. It began a line that runs unbroken to today's Seiko divers.
Elsewhere, 1965 watches show the decade settling into its shape: 35 to 37mm cases, automatic movements as standard, and dials that have usually aged to a warm cream rather than staying white.
