A watch from 1966 is likely to be automatic, likely to have a date, and likely to be steel. That combination had become the ordinary specification rather than the premium one, which says a good deal about how fast the decade moved.
Prices for watches from the mid sixties remain sensible unless the name on the dial is famous. The engineering underneath is frequently identical to watches that cost several times more.
