Birth year watches
Watches made in 1967.
Grand Seiko's 44GS arrived in 1967 with the case finishing rules Seiko still follows: flat surfaces, mirror polished bevels, no curve where a sharp line will catch the light better. It is one of the most quietly influential designs of the decade.
Ordinary 1967 watches benefit from the same care in miniature. Look at how the lugs are finished on a good piece from this year; that is where the money went.
