Birth year watches
Watches made in 1968.
1968 was the last full year before quartz changed everything. Every watch made that year was mechanical, and the industry was pushing mechanical accuracy as hard as it could, with high frequency movements and observatory chronometer trials.
That gives a 1968 watch a particular character. It is the end of a long tradition rather than the beginning of the next one, and it was built by people who did not yet know what was coming.
