Birth year watches
Watches made in 1978.
The 1978 dress watch is a particular thing: very thin, often gold toned, with a flat dial, baton markers and a bracelet running straight out of the case. Quartz movements made that slimness possible.
They are unfashionable enough to be affordable and well enough made to last, which is a useful combination in a birth year watch.
