Watches made in 1963.
Two chronographs defined 1963: the Rolex Cosmograph, later the Daytona, and the Heuer Carrera, named after the Carrera Panamericana and designed to be readable at speed. Motor racing gave the decade its watches.
Seiko also launched the Seiko 5 around this time, an automatic, day-date, water-resistant watch sold at a price ordinary people paid. Far more 1963 watches were 5s than were Daytonas, and they are the ones you can still find and wear.
