Birth year watches
Watches made in 1960.
Bulova announced the Accutron in 1960, a watch kept in time by a tuning fork humming at 360 cycles a second rather than a balance wheel. It hummed instead of ticking, and it was more accurate than any mechanical watch you could buy.
The rest of 1960 was still firmly mechanical, and cases were creeping up in size. A watch from this year is usually the point where vintage proportions start to feel comfortable on a modern wrist.
