By 2001 the chronograph was everywhere, often on watches that had no sporting pretensions at all. Three subdials had become a design element rather than a function.

That is worth knowing when buying. Check the pushers actually work and the hands reset to zero, because a chronograph that has never been serviced rarely does both.
