Swatch was at its height in 1987, with limited editions selling out and people wearing two at once. The watch had become a fashion object again, which was precisely the point.
The rest of the market followed the mood. Expect colour, texture and a certain amount of gold tone from this year, and expect it to have been made to a decent standard underneath.
