The calculator watch reached its peak around 1984, with tiny keys, address books and stopwatches crammed onto a wrist. Casio in particular treated the watch as a pocket computer that happened to tell the time.
Alongside them the conventional quartz watch grew bolder: larger cases, two tone bracelets, and dials with more going on than the previous decade would have allowed.
