Under 30mm, for any wrist

Small vintage watches.

Small watches are back, and vintage is where the good ones are. Every watch in this collection has a case under 30mm: slim dress pieces, gold bracelet watches, tiny rectangular cases and neat everyday classics, made when a small watch was simply the normal size. They sit flat under a cuff, stack with bracelets and suit any wrist. Each one is inspected in our London studio and listed with its exact measurements.

Why small watches came back

For most of the twentieth century a watch was small. Many men's pieces measured 33 to 35mm and plenty of everyday watches sat well under 30mm. The oversized cases of the 2000s were the exception, and the shift back towards smaller, slimmer watches has sent people to the vintage market, because that is where small watches were made in quantity and made well.

Who wears a small watch

Anyone. Many of these were sold as ladies' watches at the time, and plenty of them now go to men who like a small dress watch or a gold piece worn with rings and bracelets. We list the case size on every watch so you can judge it on the wrist, not on the label it was given decades ago.

Checking the size before you buy

The case diameter is in every listing. Lay a ruler across a watch you already own, or across your wrist, to see how it compares. Under 25mm reads as jewellery; 25 to 30mm reads as a small, neat watch. If you are unsure, ask us and we will measure it again for you.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as a small watch?

We use under 30mm across the case, not counting the crown. Every listing gives the exact diameter so you can compare it with a watch you know.

Can men wear a small vintage watch?

Yes. Small cases were normal for men's watches for decades, and a small gold or dress watch is a popular choice for any wrist today.
