The Seastar is Tissot's longest-running sports line, and the vintage examples are quite different from the modern divers that carry the name today. What passes through our hands is mostly the elegant end of it: gold-plated and two-tone cases, both automatic and quartz, from an era when a sports watch was still something you could wear with a jacket.
The Seastar Seven is the one collectors ask for. It is the automatic version, typically in a gold-plated case with a warm sunburst dial, and it represents Tissot's mechanical watchmaking at its most confident. Ours have sat at around £300 to £345, which for a serviced vintage Swiss automatic with genuine history is a fair way below what an equivalent Omega or Longines commands.

A word on water resistance
The Seastar name implies water resistance and the watches were genuinely rated when new, but that was decades ago. Gaskets harden, crowns wear, and no vintage watch should be treated as water resistant regardless of what the caseback claims. Treat a vintage Seastar as a dress watch with a sporting history, and it will serve you indefinitely.
